Furniture with German flavour
Ufamebel embarked on a partnership with a European furniture designer.

For the first time in Ufa factory's history the task to design a new cabinetry collection is taken on by a professional industrial designer Johan Flacke. It is not the first time when Johan Flacke cooperates with a Russian furniture company. A few years ago he participated in designing of new collections for several top manufacturers, so he has a good understanding of specifics of the furniture for Russian mass market, so that’s what got Ufamebel owner’s attention.
“We need fresh ideas for the mass market segment,” – notes the head of Ufamebel Victor Kochubey. “The prior task we asked Johan Flacke to do is to design a modern functional living space of a low production cost that yet has a certain European charm”.
Before sending designer a product requirements document, Ufamebel has conducted a survey among the continuing partners and concluded that the main requirements for the new product are: reasonable price, modern style, lightness and functionality.
“The final model is based on the very first drafts of “Koln” living room that Flacke sent us,” – announces the head of Ufamebel. “The model proves to be really light, airy, I would say. Natural colors were chosen for coating. The model is unusual for Ufamebel indeed, and I am convinced that it would be to everybody’s liking”.
